Crazy Friends
January 16th, 2008

Razvan, Eu, Irina, Miruna, Bebe, DeliaI wanted to post this a long time ago, but until now I didn’t get myself to do it. In the last 26 years, 4 months, 1 day and few hours, my life on this earth, I got to meet a lot of different people. Tall, short, slim, fat, younger, older, friendly, mean, good, bad. From all these people I was lucky enough to connect with some of them, who later became my good friends. I somehow managed to get around the craziest people around.

I went to extreme lengths to get pictures featuring them in some of their craziest moments …

Diversity

Diversity

Today I want to talk about diversity. In the last 6 years I had the chance to experience it first hand. A trend that I’ve been noticing lately happening around me, is that people take diversity for granted or do not really understand it. For many people diversity lies in the color of the skin, speech, culture or in names of exotic countries they’ve never heard of.

There’s more in embracing diversity than accepting one’s skin color, culture or speech. It’s also about being open to different ideas and ways of thinking. I believe diversity lies in thought, in the way people come up with their ideas, in the way they express themselves, in accepting the fact that no two people are alike.

The Glacier
December 14th, 2007

Me Hey guys,

I never missed an LTS[1] but this year it was really close. I’m glad I didn’t. It took some skill to convince my brother to drive 200km :). The drive there was nerve wreaking because of the poor quality of the road, tight turns and icy road. We arrived in the evening right in time for the Alumni session. I don’t think we’ve been so many ever. We talked from the heart about old times about the beginnings, challenges and advice. We definitely did our magic there. Afterwards all of us went to find a suitable place to try out the beautiful layer of snow that had just fallen down that evening and spent 3 good hours, riding downhill on plastic bags, banners or whatever we could get :).

  1. AIESEC Sibiu & Ploiesti Newie Preparation Conference. [»]

How was my LTS?
December 13th, 2005

Hey guys,It’s been a while. I’ve been involved in many things, traveled a lot and that’s why I couldn’t dedicate time for my writing :P. This concludes my excuses part of this post. The following might be boring for you … but I still want to record it … so skip to my next post :)As every year, in fall, every AIESEC LCs in Romania organizes a regional or local conference for preparation of our new members.

It’s been 5 years since we organize together with Cluj-Napoca and Targu-Mures the Local Training Seminar. We’ve been so successful so far that many of the other LCs are copying us. It was a somewhat relaxing time for me as I had only 1 session to prepare and facilitate a bit during the conference.

I’ve put up some amount of work and finally delivered a training called “My Personal Network”. It basically raised awareness on how to building and maintaining your personal network, providing also at the end some tools.
I think it went out OK considering that it was supposed to be held by 2 trainers. Due to a misunderstanding I had to deliver the whole training myself and had to redesign it as I was delivering it … was tough a cool feeling. Didn’t do it for some time now.

Time of my life
August 24th, 2005

Hey,

It took some really special people to remember me that Life is whatever you make of it. I don’t know when I felt more alive than last week. It began with meeting some old friends and ended with making a new one.

I’ve been spending some time with Lexy and Gabitza remembering old times, staying in Cluj-Napoca for 2 days to sleep it off and hiking to Alba-Iulia with Robert and Roxi to drink a cup of coffee :)

We ended up drinking beer :) for which Robert and Roxi fundraised the money. Now when I look back we did some pretty childish stuff and laughed our heads off doing it. Maybe we should try to wake our inner child from time to time. As grown-ups we seem to forget how these things can affect how we feel, that happiness requires so little.

“Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one’.”

Cheers,
The Lion.
