Fragility of life
September 10th, 2006

I don’t know how to start, I don’t know exactly what to write … Cristi (Meli), died in a car accident yesterday. He was 25 years old, and he left behind a girlfriend he was about to get married to, a younger sister and lots of good friends.

He was the guy that was always finding something to laugh about, always being the soul of the party. Cristi was also part of the 2002-2003 EB in AIESEC Sibiu. My first EB. I have some amazing memories that keep coming back in these sad days.

We weren’t that close in the past 2 years, our lives heading in different directions. I’ve meet him just last week, he was eating out with Gabi. We had some laughs, had lunch together. We’ve parted saying the usual “We’ll be seeing each other …”. Yesterday, around 9PM, I was at home with some friends celebrating my 26th birthday. Bebe took me outside in the garden and told me he had very bad news … A stupid car accident.

This is a reminder of how fragile life really is. It’s a time when, as Gabi said we need to be strong and stick together. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.

Among Friends
August 24th, 2006

Hey,

I’ve always been attracted to the people from AIESEC Cluj-Napoca, always regarded them as my “brother” LC. They manage to recruit and retain some of the best people from AIESEC Romania, year after year.

Being at their planning conference was one those moments when you feel relaxed, warm and cosy among cool people, like being among friends. And I had this feeling all the 5 days I’ve been there.

I’ve picked the song[1] that is representative for these special people.

TtT
July 5th, 2006

Hey guys,

I strongly believe that life is full of surprises and that they come when you least expect them. Last weekend I’ve been trough the best facilitating experience of my AIESEC life (well my ex AIESEC life). I was supposed to be a quiet observer of the TtT[1] conference held in a small village near Sibiu called Tilisca and help out the OC. I went there because I was eager to meet some very good friends and wanted to relax a little. Once we arrived there it turned out that they needed an extra facilitator :) and guess what, no one else was available.

It turned out to be an awesome experience, starting the people attending there, the location, my friends in the NTT (National Trainers Team) and ending the agenda. I for one was amazed by the passion and the amount of work put into this conference by these guys, really wanting to learn, really wanting to grow, to become the best trainers they could.

Two Loves Be One
June 18th, 2006

For some time now I’ve been anxiously waiting for the wedding of a very cute couple, “Stefanel” (formerly Stefutz) and Irinuta. Well last weekend it finally happened!

As I saw it, the wedding was perfect like in story books, one of the most cool and enjoyable weddings I’ve ever been too. It’s been also a reunion with old friends, AIESEC Alumni, some of which I haven’t seen in five years!

Anyway, it felt like being in an AIESEC conference, without the plenaries and other boring stuff. I don’t know if this was good or bad, but we did party till 5 am :).

Just a few days ago, a good friend of mine made me a surprise: he phoned me and asked to step out of my office for a few minutes. When I actually got to see him, well, he was wearing the back robe. Nice.

I’ve missed my graduation last year, being away and all that, and didn’t got to dress up in these fancy robes or attend the last official lecture – which I heard was pretty cool. At least I got to wear the hat :).

There are some things in life you shouldn’t miss. I guess this is one of them.

The Lion.
