Roadtrip to Leiden – One more ;)

Well in fact it was a TRAIN trip.
I and Pixi decided to visit the tulip garden (KeukenHof) … funny name. Well this is a “garden” covering 32 hectares of land. We visited most of it and thanks to Pixi I have some very nice pictures to send you.
On the way there we got into a crowded bus … were we could feel multiculturalisms … no dutch where there … only Japanese, Mexicans, Chinese, Russians, Italians, Germans, etc. All sort of languages were spoken there. Thank good I had my palm with me so I could focus on the music in my ears :)
When we got close to KeukenHof entire fields full of tulips showed up. All colors and sizes. I never seen so many tulips in my life… and so many hot sexy mamas … all kinds of them. :D
We got into the park there were all kinds of Tulips there (even ugly ones) and also other flowers. I was afraid my allergies would cause me problems …. but it didn’t, well at least not till I was in the middle of the park and couldn’t turn back :P. I’m still alive while writing these lines so it’s OK.
In the middle of the Garden is a beautiful lake with all sort of wild life, swans and other birds I don’t know. We also got to see one of the windmills of the park. I have some pictures from up there too.
The only downside of the trip was that we arrived curring the flower parade (not that it wasn’t beautiful) but the park was crowded with people … and you know how Homo-Sapiens have the gift of ruining a wonderful thing :P
To sum it up it was beautiful. I’m beginning to like The Netherlands very much, it’s a very, very beautiful country.
On the way back we got to see Leiden, just 1 or 2 hours before the sunset. We walked and admired the city and of course it’s nice like all the cities I’ve visited till now. But as beautiful as Utrecht is none.
We walked several Km that day and when we got back we were beat, we got directly to bed.
Weird stuff:
I’m sorry to say but these Dutch people don’t have any sense of reason. When we got out of the park there was a 500 m line of people waiting to get on the bus. First there was just ONE bus and we were beginning to think we will stay there for another hour or two. But it seems people are more civilized then back home, cause in the next 15 minutes, 4 buses arrived. They were inserted extra by the company on this track (KeukenHof – Leiden) because the first driver noticed the amount of people waiting and called the company. But then … people are loaded only trough the front door of the bus and only ONE bus at a time … defies reason at least for me. The other 3 buses waited for another 10 minutes/per bus till the other finished loading people … really stupid.
Other stuff
1. I’m planning to visit Nijmengen, cause it happened that in the process of updating my address book to get a reply from Crowers Cristiaan, one of the TriX participants 2,5 years ago in Cluj-Napoca. He offered to give us a guide of the city and we’re thinking to go there next week. I didn’t know I’ve made so many friends … thanks to AIESEC.
2. I’m also going for sure at the Queens Day in Amsterdam next weekend … it’s going to be fun, I’ve also heard it’s going to be a parade so Pixi and I aren’t going to miss it. As I don’t have a lot of time here in The Netherlands I decided to go somewhere every weekend.
I also remade contact with Carl from New Zealand … a guy I’ve meet 1,5 years ago. This world is full of surprises :)
