Retrospective: Boatride

Not so long time ago, somewhere last month I’ve had some quality time with two of my best friends, members of the RZR[1] group :D. I’m rarely going to the village museum. I’ve seen it all so many times, so I find it uninteresting. Perhaps I’m just missing the right crowd :).
Robert made his way to Sibiu for Roxi’s birthday and after a good night (and a good part of the day) we managed to get there.
It was also the first time in years since I’ve last used the city’s public transportation services. I don’t have really a need for it as it only takes me 45 minutes from one end of the city to the other and I prefer to walk, just me, my thoughts and my iPod :D.
The last part of the road we easily managed walking on the tram tracks. As we got there, we had the pleasure to view some traditional Romanian dances taking place there. I mostly don’t value this kind of stuff much, but this time, it was really worth watching.
After walking around a bit we were forced in taking shelter from the coming storm in an old windmill, where we entertained the an old man for quite some time, till the rain gave in. I loved the stillness all around me, the fog rising from the lake, the rain flowing down the leaves, drops of water and mist on my face … I felt free … happy maybe?
I think it’s been more than 6 years since I’ve last been in a boat. It was awkward and I was under the impression the boat will capsize every moment … in the end, it we had loads of fun taking turns at the paddles, making stupid photos and licking ice-cream :).
Years from now, it’s these stupid things we’ll remember, these brief moments of happiness spent among friends.
